The OB-3600 UltraAir is designed to help prevent bedsores and protect fragile skin for people who spend long periods of time in bed. It uses alternating air pressure and gentle airflow to reduce pressure on the body, keep the skin cool and dry, and minimize irritation so the patient can rest more comfortably and safely. This makes it especially helpful for individuals at high risk for skin breakdown or pressure-related injuries.

Cell-on-Cell Mattress Design / 24H Power Outage Protection

This mattress is built with a supportive cell-on-cell design that helps keep the bottom layer inflated for up to 24 hours in the event of a power outage, reducing the risk of the patient sinking too deeply or “bottoming out.” If the power goes out, the system provides both audio and visual warnings while maintaining inflation as long as the air hose stays connected to the control unit. The control unit is located on the footboard of the bed and is designed for easy, intuitive use so caregivers can manage all functions smoothly, even in urgent situations.

Multiple Rotation Angles (15°/25°/40°):

The OB-3600 offers several rotation options—including 15-degree left rotation, 25-degree left or right rotation, 25-degree automatic rotation, and 40-degree automatic rotation—to support a variety of patient needs. These controlled turning movements help patients stay active while in bed, support lung function by helping move mucus, reduce the risk of lung infections, and improve overall results from physical therapy or long-term care. These features are especially important for individuals with limited mobility or respiratory concerns.

15° Self-lateral Rotation

The mattress provides a gentle 15-degree self-lateral rotation by continuously inflating and deflating specific air cells in a wave-like pattern. This motion helps redistribute weight, improve sleep quality, relieve pressure points, promote circulation, and reduce the risk of bedsores—particularly helpful for patients who cannot turn themselves independently. 

Patented Inflatable Air-Filled Guardrails

The OB-3600 includes patented inflatable air-filled guardrails that offer soft but secure protection without the discomfort of traditional metal side rails. These guardrails can be inflated or deflated with a single button and include a mid-section opening to allow safe and easy entry or exit. The design helps prevent falls while minimizing the risk of bruising or injury, making the system ideal for home care and long-term care environments where patient comfort and safety are essential.

Patented “Easy Go” Bedpan Function

With the patented “Easy Go” bedpan feature, caregivers can press a single button to deflate four air cells beneath the buttocks within about 20 seconds. This creates a comfortable recessed opening for a bedpan, allowing in-bed toileting without the discomfort or physical strain associated with moving or lifting the patient. This feature improves hygiene, safety, and ease of care for bedridden patients.

Patented “Easy Go” Shampoo Function

The one-touch “Easy Go” shampoo function gently deflates the head section of the mattress to create a recessed area that can hold a shampoo basin within 20 seconds. This makes washing a patient’s hair in bed much easier and more comfortable, especially for individuals who cannot be safely moved to a sink or shower. It reduces unnecessary movement and helps maintain dignity and comfort during personal care.

Patient-Centered Safety Design

The mattress features a sinking function that lowers the surface by up to 4 inches while keeping the patented four-inch guardrails firmly in place. This creates a soft eight-inch protective barrier that helps keep the patient centered and safe during alternating pressure therapy and self-lateral rotation—even during rotations up to 40 degrees. It maintains patient stability while still allowing caregivers easy access during repositioning and daily care.

These features are especially important for individuals with Stage 1 through Stage 4 pressure ulcers or those at risk for developing them.

Fowler & Seating

The Fowler and seating support function provides additional firmness in the seat and torso areas when the head of the bed is raised, helping prevent the patient from sliding down, bottoming out, or developing pressure injuries while seated.
