ObboMed OB-1650 StandardAir Medical Air Mattress - Alternating Pressure Lateral Rotation with Low Air Loss for Ulcer Prevention

The OB-1650 StandardAir Mattress is designed to help prevent bedsores and protect fragile skin for individuals who spend long periods of time in bed. Its alternating air pockets gently inflate and deflate in cycles to redistribute pressure, reducing stress on the back, hips, heels, and other sensitive areas. This repeated redistribution supports healthier blood circulation, minimizes irritation, and helps reduce the risk of pressure ulcers, allowing patients to rest more comfortably and safely.

Multiple Rotation Angles (15°/25°):

The mattress offers several rotation options—including 15-degree left turns, 25-degree left turns, 25-degree right turns, and a 25-degree automatic rotation mode—to support a variety of patient needs. These controlled turning motions help increase activity in bed, assist lung function by helping move phlegm, reduce the risk of pulmonary infections, and enhance physical therapy outcomes. This rotation assistance is especially helpful for patients who cannot reposition themselves independently and need extra support to stay comfortable and maintain respiratory health.

15° Self-lateral Rotation:

Using specialized air cells, the OB-1650 provides a gentle 15-degree self-lateral rotation by continuously inflating and deflating specific sections of the mattress. This creates a smooth, wave-like motion that shifts the patient’s weight and helps reduce pressure points. The self-rotation aids sleep quality, promotes circulation, improves comfort, and helps prevent the development of bedsores—especially for individuals who cannot turn themselves.

Patented Inflatable Air-Filled Guardrails

This mattress includes patented inflatable air-filled guardrails that offer soft, supportive protection without the discomfort associated with traditional metal side rails. These guardrails inflate or deflate at the touch of a button and include a mid-section opening to make entering and exiting the bed safer and easier. Their firm yet cushioned structure helps prevent falls while avoiding bruising or injury, making them well-suited for both home health and long-term care environments.

Patented “Easy Go” Bedpan Function

With the patented “Easy Go” bedpan function, caregivers can press a single button to quickly deflate four air cells beneath the patient’s buttocks, creating a recessed opening for a bedpan within about 20 seconds. This feature allows for in-bed toileting that greatly reduces discomfort associated with transfers, minimizes lifting for caregivers, and improves both hygiene and safety. It is particularly beneficial for bedridden patients who require regular toileting support.

Patented “Easy Go” Shampoo Function

The OB-1650 includes a patented one-touch shampoo function that gently deflates the head section of the mattress to create a recessed area for a shampoo basin. This makes it possible to wash the patient’s hair comfortably in bed within approximately 20 seconds. The design reduces unnecessary movement, increases comfort, and makes personal care easier and more dignified for patients who cannot be safely moved to a sink or shower.

Patient-Centered Safety Design

The mattress includes a sinking feature that lowers the surface by up to four inches, working together with the four-inch guardrails to create an eight-inch deep soft safety boundary. This added depth helps keep the patient securely centered during alternating pressure cycles and rotational therapy—even during 25-degree turns. The design promotes stability and safety while still allowing caregivers easy access for repositioning, hygiene care, and other daily tasks.

Other Special Feature:

Comfort-Focused Low Air Loss (LAL) Therapy

The OB-1650 features Comfort-Focused Low Air Loss (LAL) therapy, located beneath the cover layer, which delivers 15 liters of airflow per minute. This steady ventilation helps remove moisture and regulate both temperature and humidity around the patient’s skin, creating a dry and comfortable microclimate. This is especially important for individuals with Stage 1 through Stage 4 pressure ulcers or those at high risk for developing them.

Fowler & Seating

The Fowler and seating function increases support under the torso and seat when the head of the bed is raised. This helps prevent sliding and reduces the risk of pressure injuries by providing consistent support while the patient is seated.
